Description: Comfortably Numb and the Comfortably Numb (Foreplay) descent is a classic must do epic cross country ride in Whistler, BC. It is on the IMBA official list of epic rides. Brutally relentless and incredibly technical, this ride is not for the feint of heart. Leg searing climbs and super technical descents are the order of the day. It’s the type of ride you might only ever want to do once, but you will forever be glad that you’ve seen it. If you are the type who loves challenging trails and a long day in the saddle though, this is a ride that you’ll want to cross off your list and perhaps come back to do again.
We have finished the ride by coming through some of the best descents in the Lost Lake area. Depending on where you need to go at the end of your ride, you might want to vary the ride by heading towards Lost Lake when you finish the Comfortably Numb (Foreplay) descent rather than the way we’ve routed you.
We have started you at the trail head/parking area for Comfortably Numb, but you can also ride out to that trail head on the valley trail/highway. Or, for the super hardcore and uber fit, you could ride Kill Me Thrill Me first, but you’re likely a Sasquatch on steroids if you choose that option. We don’t really recommend it as Comfortably Numb is hard enough on its own.
Lastly, we built this route showing the little bypass option in the middle of Comfortably Numb which allows you to shorten the ride a bit. To do the full ride, just avoid the bypass option. You can also bail out on Young Lust, Jeffs or Yummy Nectar if you find the ride is taking too long.
